Scaffolding OverloadA 4 to
1 safety ratio must be followed. Do not overload scaffolding.
Scaffold is governed in height to 4 times the narrowest base
dimension. It is possible to widen the base outriggers or more end
frames. Tie scaffolding into building. Keep your caster wheels locked
except to re-spot. Exceptions: 3 times in CA, OH, OR, MT, ME 3 � time
in WA.
BracingEnsure safety and stability with an adequate amount of bracing. Connect bracing to all points.
Safety ChecksCheck the scaffold for safety issues upon being built and daily as used. Inspect all components.
FootingMake sure that scaffold is level. Use the correct amount and types of footing and / or base plates.
Tie-In ScaffoldingHeavy wire or tie-in devices should be used to secure scaffolding. The first vertical tie should be at the maximum height of 4 times the narrowest base dimension. Additional ties are not to exceed 26 feet vertically. Maximum horizontal distance between ties is not to exceed 30 feet.
